A last holiday

We were in Malacca for Xmas. It would be the last holiday for 2006. Had our own little celebration walking around and trying out new eateries and of course, more presents for everyone! Although the hotel was quite horrible but it was a nice room we had. Four beds in a room made things really cosy. But most of all, and most importantly, it definitely was a well reserved time for the whole family to just gather together.

Meredith on 'an elephant'. Paid RM 2 for about
5 rounds of the ride. Well, as long as she enjoyed it...

Trying out the food on the streets for the first time! And its definitely the Char Kway Tiao that stood out. YUM!

Spotted this old Fiat 127. In our younger days,
when cars were still expensive, we scouted around
for this car, which was going $5000 and could last 2 years.
The mechanics called it a grape - pu toh. Cute!

A new fan because the other ' is not
working anymore'.

Finally...presents on Xmas eve! Among all , the most anticipated one-the Hello Kitty watch. 'Now I can tell you the time Mama!'

Before we set off, friends recommended authentic Nyonya food at Nancy's Kitchen. It was no disappointment. Check out the beautiful Ang Ku Kueh in assorted colours made just that morning (too bad they only have it bean paste filling, no peanut ones!)...and thereafter a scrumptious Peranakan lunch.

And lastly, back home on Xmas Day, a last gift exchange.
A set of ring and necklace of Snow White
which she had wanted so much.

And for Mummy, a little something that supposedly
releases stress. Made more meaningful because the
smaller fella relaxing next to 'Mummy' is supposed to be
didi...her new sibling on the way...
